3G is running at a very slow maximum of 3.1 mbps (Megabits per Second), which by today's standards is extremely slow and wasn't massive back in the early 2000's.

4G is running at a comparable 10 Mbps (Megabits per Second), which allows for a download of a Full HD Movie to be around 10 minutes, which is fairly standard in current day.

5G is running at an unheard of 1.056 Gbps (Gigabits per Second), which will allow for the same Full HD Movie to be done in under 10 seconds.

Above is a representation of the usability and efficiency at the proposed launch of 5G in 2020. 3G being in the red-zone as, yes, it does give you better signal due to its lower bandwidth, it does not have good enough download speeds and overall web browsing, this renders 3G inefficient and, when compared to 5G and 4G, barely usable. 4G is the best we have before 5G. This by today's standards is very quick and very efficient but, as seen by the comparisons below, not at all in comparison to 5G; which is up at the top. 5G has the capability to download 1 Gb in a second, this is phenomenally fast, faster than the average UK and US internet connection.
To give you a perspective of the jump Data per Second, in the table below.
To translate, contrary to popular belief, 1024 Bits is equal to 1 Kilobit, and not 1000. This is most commonly seen with hard drives. 1000 GB does not equal 1 TB; 1024 GB is equal to 1 TB. With data, the progression system works in a series of 1024 increases.

1 MegaBIT is equal to 125 KiloBYTES

1 GigaBIT is equal to 125 MegaBYTES

1 TeraBIT is equal to 125 GigaBYTES

1 PetaBIT is equal to 125 TeraBYTES

From this information we know that:

5G HAS A DOWNLOAD SPEED OF 125 MEGABYTES PER SECOND!

The average UK download speed is 22.8 MegaBITS per second. 5G is over 43x as fast.

The average US download speed is 19.27 MegaBits per second. 5G is over 51x as fast.
